Hi guys,
there is a new version 3.7.2 of the TOP software with a lot of changes
(https://top.yq.cz/__admin/_versions), but two of them might be important
for all of you.
1. I tried to unify all dialogs so that in all of them (where it makes
sense) there are "negative" buttons (Exit, Reset, Undo, ...) in the
bottom LEFT corner and "positive" buttons (Save, Generate, ...) in the
bottom RIGHT corner. If the dialog contains both widgets (edit-boxes,
list-boxes, check-boxes etc.) for "in-row-editation" (such as column
heading for race in series) and also per-row operations (buttons or
check-boxes at the beginning of rows), there was a problem, in the
previous implementation, whether the changed values in the editing
widgets should/will be saved when a row-operation was selected. So I
decided to clarify this a bit. I such dialogs, the editing and saving
must be enabled by a special Edit button (in the bottom right corner).
Otherwise, only per-row operations are enabled. And when the editing
mode is entered, the per-row operations are not enabled. I hope it
helps a bit. Sometimes it could be a bit annoying but it has another
added value - it prevents unintended modification of some values.
2. I apologize Abel that I didn't get this idea one month earlier:
I can recognize use of the same ToePunch chip by two competitors!
It's pretty easy. If you fill a startime properly, I can assign data
identified by the same chip number to two (or even more) competitors
by comparing the data timestamp and the start time! So if you have a
promo action with more competitors than chips, you can simply assign
them a chip together with a start time. It need not to be the exact
start time - it could be e.g. 9:00 for the first group and 10:00 for
the later ones... Of course, this mode is a bit risky - if you lose
the data from the chip and clear it, it won't be restored! OK, to be
absolutely exact - I can restore it (from the boxes), but it is not
an easy task. Similarly, if you want to use direct sending results
from ToePunch boxes to the TOP server and some units have incorrect
time, it also won't work with chip sharing (while read-out will work
even in this case). So it is not a standard way for organizing races,
just a workaround how to solve extraordinary events. It is really
not recommended to use it e.g. for WRE! :-)
